EXCERPT
This is James Bond, a British secret agent. A guy who by definition should be mysterious and shadowy, walking and talking towards the audience introducing himself and cheerfully narrating the dangers and perks of his singular profession, inviting us to what it looks like a funny ride. The words “my latest, and if I’m not careful my last assignment” would normally invoke the sensation of fear, an invitation to death and danger for anyone who would embark in that kind of mission as Bond does. However, with Moore’s particular charisma and sympathetic tone of voice, it looks like an invitation to the roller coaster on a theme park. Only fifteen years have passed since Bond first debuted in the big screen and he passed from being a “gentleman agent with a licence to kill” to an adventurous hero that invites us to join him on one of his adventures.
